One of the greatest obstacles when it comes to writing is content creation. I understand because I too struggle about what to write about sometimes. Here are my top 5 content creation tips.

content creation tips

1) Be a problem solver

There’s no denying that we all have problems. Google can quickly reassure us of that. As a business owner, you have the unique ability to potentially help others solve their problems with your expertise. Regardless of what your product or service is – there’s someone out there right now searching for a solution only you can give them. Make a list of issues that your business can solve and start writing about them.

2) Tell a story

Everyone loves a good story. You probably have quite a few related to your business. Create connections by allowing others to read your stories and hopefully also identify with them.

3) Make it relevant

Take a current event and write about it. There’s no shame in capitalizing on what is currently relevant. If there’s a public snafu or outcry that you can piggyback off of – do it! Take advantage of free publicity whenever you can.

4) Research your competition

If you’re truly stuck on what to write about – try researching what your competitors are not just writing but also sharing. Don’t copy them word for word but allow their content to inspire you. Make sure to take note of which competitor content is getting the greatest responses.

5) Farm it out

You also always have the option to hire someone else to do your writing for you. You can decide how little or how much of your content you need help with. From just providing you with a list of headlines to get you going to fully managing all your social media, blogs and written communication – a copywriter can be your secret weapon.

Content Creation

The question is never whether you need content. We are all voracious consumers of it – social media, blogs, articles – we’re always skimming it and searching out more. These content creation tips should hopefully get you on the road to having customers scrolling through your words instead of your competitors!
